Bio
Andrew Moses is an interdisciplinary artist, composer, and clarinetist based in Rome and Los Angeles. His work has been presented by venues such as the LA Phil’s Noon to Midnight and Green Umbrella series, Ojai Music Festival, PHASE Gallery, Indexical (Santa Cruz), Leroy’s (Los Angeles), UTA Artist Space LA, Yellow Barn, Shapeshifter Lab, Lake Champlain Chamber Music Festival, and Hear Now Music Festival. His work has been performed by ensembles such as the Los Angeles Philharmonic New Music Group, International Contemporary Ensemble, Wild Up, and Mivos, Argus, Calder, and Zorá string quartets. He was Nancy and Barry Sanders’ Composer Fellow with the Los Angeles Philharmonic 2013-2016. He was Teaching Artist at Toolbox International Creative Academy in Hong Kong in 2023. Upcoming engagements include commissions by the Curtis Institute’s 2024 Centenary Commissioning Initiative and by the Daniel W. Dietrich II Fund and Friends of the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra. As a clarinetist, Moses has performed as soloist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic New Music Group and in chamber settings with iPalpiti Artists International, Curtis’ 20/21 Ensemble, and the Arcana New Music Ensemble. He has an MFA in Art and Technology from the California Institute of the Arts and a BM in Composition as Anthony B. Creamer III Fellow at the Curtis Institute of Music.
